As NYC mayoral election nears, Eric Adams’ associates face new wave of corruption accusations
New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ former chief advisor was accused of accepting thousands of dollars in bribes, the latest in a long string of corruption scandals involving the mayor’s inner circle as he seeks reelection in November.
Ingrid Lewis-Martin accepted more than $75,000 in bribes while serving as chief adviser to New York Mayor Eric Adams, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg alleged Thursday in four separate conspiracy indictments that also named eight others, including ...
Lewis-Martin resigned from City Hall in December before being indicted on separate corruption charges to which she pleaded not guilty. Adams, who is facing long odds as he runs for reelection as an independent, was not accused of wrongdoing in any of the cases.
Martin, who was charged with her son in December 2024 with accepting more than $100,000, is expected to appear in court on Thursday morning for an arraignment on the new charges.
