This also means EA has cut its expectations for the 2025 fiscal year. In its preliminary third-quarter results for fiscal year 2025, EA writes that it is revising its anticipated mid-single-digit growth in live services net bookings to a mid-single-digit decline.

After 14 years, EA will retire its controversial Origin game distribution app for Windows, the company announced. Origin will stop working on April 17, 2025. Folks still using it will be directed to install the newer EA app, which launched in 2022.

EA will finally shut down Origin on April 17, 2025. Anyone still using Origin will have to make the switch over to the EA App to keep playing their games. EA App doesn't work on 32-bit operating systems,
