A large number of mysterious drones been reported flying over parts of New Jersey in recent weeks and have more recently been spotted over New York City, sparking speculation and concern over who sent them and why.

In the Garden State, where the rash of sightings started a month ago, residents are looking to the skies, wondering why they still don’t have definitive answers from officials.

Mysterious drone sightings continue to be reported throughout New Jersey and, as of Friday night, have spread to the New York area. The New York sightings have prompted Governor Kathy Hochul to comment.

There is no evidence to show that recent drone sightings over New Jersey pose a national security or public safety risk, federal security officials and the White House said.
