HOOD RIVER, Ore. (KATU) — The Burdoin Fire burning the Columbia River Gorge remains uncontained on Sunday, July 20. Fire officials said Sunday afternoon that the fire had burned 8,776 acres, a smaller size than announced this morning. Officials say better mapping allowed them to get a more accurate size of the fire.

The Burdoin fire burning on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge grew to 8,700 acres on Sunday and is 0% contained. Level 3 (go now) evacuations are in effect for residents in Lyle and High Prairie in Klickitat County.
