VANCOUVER, British Columbia — David Pastrnak had a goal and three assists as the Boston Bruins beat the Vancouver Canucks 5-1 on Saturday night. Pavel Zacha had a goal and an assist, and Brad Marchand, Morgan Geekie and Marc McLaughlin also scored for the Bruins. Jeremy Swayman stopped 19 shots.

David Pastrnak had a 4-point night and Boston matched its output in the first two games of its western trip in the opening 8:08 against former Boston College goaltender Thatcher Demko.

The Bruins may not have been in a must-win situations in Vancouver on Saturday, but they had to play much better than they had been. They did just that, and the win took care of itself.
