SAN JOSE, Calif. - A 6-year-old boy was killed this weekend on Interstate Highway 280 in San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner identified the boy as King Holguin.

The child, who was on the shoulder of the freeway, ran across the third lane at 10:52 p.m. and was fatally struck by a 36-year-old San Jose man, CHP said. The boy had severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
