Recorder's Norwalk headquarters received a bomb threat on Saturday — the latest in a string of threats targeting election hubs across the region and country.

The bomb threat was “communicated to” the registrar’s main facility on Berger Drive in North San Jose about 8 a.m. Saturday, leading to the evacuation of the building. Vote counting was suspended until the building can be cleared, according to the report.

Authorities said the voter registration offices of Orange and Riverside counties were closed Friday after receiving a bomb threat.

Orange County’s elections office, where ballots were being counted, received a bomb threat Friday afternoon, the registrar said. Staff and members of the public who were watching ballots being tallied were evacuated from the Santa Ana building at about 6:45 p.m., Bob Page, the registrar of voters said, and everyone is safe.

Police are looking into a reported bomb threat at Central Piedmont Community College Wednesday afternoon. Several buildings on campus have been evacuated while the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating the threat, school officials confirmed to Channel 9.
