Barry Odom was always here for a good time, not a long time. There should have never been any delusions about that among a fan base that was teased into finally believing in the UNLV football program’s relevance after years of being an afterthought locally and a speck of dirt in the wind nationally.

New Purdue coach Barry Odom penned a thoughtful farewell message to UNLV. He spent two seasons with the Rebels before taking the job with the Boilermakers.

After going 9-5 in 2023, Barry Odom's first season as UNLV coach, he renegotiated a contract that went into effect Jan. 1, 2024 through Dec. 31, 2028.
