Regardless of which test you look at, the MacBook Pro is generally faster than the Air laptops, and its active cooling system allows it to sustain peak performance for more extended periods without thermal throttling. In contrast, the fanless MacBook Air may see performance dips during prolonged intensive tasks.

Apple has yet to include cellular connectivity on its laptops, but leaked code suggests that the first 5G MacBook Pro is now in development.

But the M5 Pro isn’t the most exciting thing about this discovery. The same code suggests that this could be the first Mac ever to include a “Centuari” chip, which is the codename for Apple’s 5G modem (also known as C1), introduced earlier this year with the iPhone 16e.
