Mukesh Khanna declined Yash Raj Films' offer to acquire the rights for Shaktimaan, fearing they would turn it into a "disco drama." He proposed collaborating with Aditya Chopra on the project, suggesting Allu Arjun as a potential fit for the titular role while expressing reservations about Ranveer Singh's suitability.

Mukesh Khanna shared that Ranveer Singh would be better suited to play the antagonist Tamraj Kilvish rather than the superhero Shaktimaan.
