Hi, which river would you recommend as best out of the Merced and Tuolumne for a one day trip? We are a couple who have been white water rafting a few times before (but only on organised trips like this, so by are no means experts!) so looking for reasonable rapids. Getting to either river is not a problem so not dictated to by location. Time of year will probably be the last weekend of April. Thanks!

Have’nt done the Tuolumne, but had plenty of excitement on the Merced. On the Merced we did 2 x class 4 rapids in early July. Conditions were unusual for that time of year, usually the season is nearly over by then. Would need to check with Zephyr when the season is over. There is loads of data from the Parks Service about water levels. Guides did most of the work and very safe.
