Apparently, Google has a feature where you can hum or sing to search a song. It’s kinda like Shazam. (I apologize if this has already been posted on this sub.) I think it works pretty accurately for pop songs and hit-or-miss for classical music. Still worth a try! Archived post. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast.
Trying to hum into just Google didn't work, but all of the websites said "Search a Song" should just be there, but it wasn't. Omfg saved me an entire night of losing my insanity..
Is anyone familiar with Google’s “hum to search” tool? I’ve been able to use it on my phone, but I was wondering if I’d be able to download Google Assistant to my laptop and use it there too? This is for a school project I’m working on, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Starting today, you can hum, whistle or sing a melody to Google to solve your earworm. On your mobile device, open the latest version of the Google app or find your Google Search widget, tap the mic icon and say “what's this song?” or click the “Search a song” button. Then start humming for 10-15 seconds.
Why YSK: Because we often know how to hum a song but do not know its name. Open Google Assistant and ask "What is the name of this song?" and then hum the tune. It works most of the time.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 and the "search a song" feature on the Google search widget won't work. I have been having this issue for awhile now, probably going on a year, and have tried all the "solutions" given online.
So, I downloaded the google app as well as google assistant and the google search widget and clicked the microphone next to the search bar, said "what's this song" and started humming but it just thinks I'm searching for the word "song" on google and pulls up web searches.
I've began using Google's song search (open Google Assistant and click "what's this song?"). And I was wondering how does the song recognition compare with Shazam's extensive library of song recognition and which is more accurate?
