My FaceID really only works well when the phone is facing me directly. If it’s laying flat on the table in front of me, it won’t work unless I lift it up a little. Is something wrong? I didn’t upgrade from the 7 plus to move to something inferior. I can live with this for a year but they better...
Banking (and other) apps have the authentication method (password, or FaceID or TouchID) *within* the app itself, with no impact on the OS. In other words, all OS functions work on that app. The iOS 18 lock is part of the OS and nothing to do with the app itself. You need to authenticate with FaceID before the app will work at all.
Will FaceID on iPhones work if a third party tries to repair or replace the parts with non-genuine parts or any of the FaceID parts get damaged, or tampered with?
The phone mount may be suited for a mobile solution but it's unnecessary for a desktop setup. So, why not just have an external camera that has LIDAR + other sensors that we plug into an existing machine (desktop or laptop) that we can use for FaceID? What do you think? I use a Logitech Stream Cam and it's awesome. I'm sure Apple can make something equally as good if not better. Or perhaps ...
So since upgrading my 15 Pro to iOS 26 I noticed that my iPhone doesn’t unlock with FaceID upon a first try which is not how it was prior to upgrading to iOS 26. Do any of you notice the same thing? Any resolution to this? I tried resetting Face ID and doing a new face scan but the issue...
I have multiple devices on 18.4.1 and FaceId works normally on them. You might try restarting the device, erase and re-setup FaceId or as a last resort, restore your phone using iTunes/Finder..
Why not create your faceID without glasses on? That's what i did from the beginning, and it recognizes me with my glasses on. wow i feel dumb, that seems to have worked. still weird it doesn't seem to work in the reverse order, at least for me. thanks though!
FaceID can easily be done on the iMac, even if it was a reverse notch like you see on some Lenovo laptops/screens but Apple chooses not to. I guess they don't want the iMac having it over the MacBook Pros as it will just make them look even more silly with the notch that doesn't do FaceID.
I tried to add tickets from Ticketmaster to my Apple Wallet (iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 16.7). I get a message stating that it requires Face ID. I do not use...
